What I'm up to and loving this month
I have been busy at work designing my first surface pattern design collection and I’m quite pleased with the results (see the end of this email). I hope to have these available on Spoonflower in the future.
I’ve also been working on this month’s rug pattern which I’ll have for you on Wednesday.
I’m ready to shift gears a bit this week into my latest punch needle project. I’m not sure where to start, but winding my yarn is always a good place to begin.

In the meantime, here’s what I’m loving lately…
These Faber-Castell sparkel pastel pencil crayons come in a cute tin that also screams spring.
@emilyvanhoff is making what I can only describe as sculptural quilts and all can think about is the technique’s potential for rug hooking.
I didn't know you could customize an old sewing machine like an old car, but now that I know I wish I had one.
I’ve been listening to…
The podcast Women and Crime: female-focused cases told by two women criminologists.
Greenlights by Mathew McConaughey on audiobook.
Reading…
A Sweet Sting of Salt by Rose Sutherland is a modern retelling of The Selkie Wife fairytale.
If you love reimagined fairytales you may also like the author Naomi Novik. In Spinning Silver she recreates the Rumpelstiltskin tale.
Cooking…
Are salads cooking? Loving all the veggie forward recipes in Come Hungry by Melissa Ben-Ishay. I also love all her @bakedbymelissa Instagram reels as she makes lunch/dinner.
Traveling…
We are in the midst of planning our trip back home to Canada in June/July. I can’t wait, but our time is filling up so fast with everyone we want to see and some practical things we need to accomplish. Before then, I’m sneaking away for a long weekend girls trip to Hoi An, Vietnam. I’m ready for lanterns, old town, banh mi, and having a custom dress (or two) made.
Until next time,
